The present invention relates generally to blockchain implementations and is not limited and suitable for use with bitcoin blockchains. It is available for automated processing implementations such as device / system control, process control, distributed computing and storage. The present invention provides a means to control processing performed on computational resources utilizing block chains. In the preferred embodiment, computational resources executing in parallel simultaneously with the block chain manage loop based processing. Computational resources continually monitor the state of the block chain as well as any other off block chain input data or source. The execution of the loop is affected by the state of the blockchain. Each iteration of the loop executed by the computational resource is recorded in the transaction written to the block chain. It is stored as a hash in the transaction's metadata. If the computational resource detects a transaction that contains a hash associated with the loop, it accesses the relevant part of the code. The loop contains conditional statements that allow the computing resource to determine which action to take. The condition may depend on the state of the block chain or any other data source. The action can be any type of action on or off the blockchain. Thus, the combination of computational resources and block chains provides (at least in part) a Turing-complete means.
