PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute protection of a plurality of types of optical communication units having different communication systems even when adopting an optical switch having one standby port.;SOLUTION: A station side device comprises: an optical switch having a plurality of active ports and one standby port; a plurality of types of active units having different communication systems as optical communication units optically connected to the active ports; a standby unit capable of corresponding to the plurality of types of communication systems as an optical communication unit optically connected to the standby port; and a control part for executing protection including first control for connecting the standby port to the active port of a switching source and second control to operate the standby unit by the communication system of the active unit of the switching source.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
