To provide a biomass-modified coal that uses extraneous energy and unused biomass derived from palm industry which are generated accompanying production of a palm oil in an environment that produces low grade coal such as brown coal and has a large scale palm coconut industry and brown coal and has a high heat generation amount, and excellent transportability and handling property, and its production method.SOLUTION: A production method of biomass-modified coal includes: a palm oil production process of obtaining a palm oil from a palm coconut tree; an acquiring and separating process of obtaining a recycle raw material from the palm coconut tree; a half-carbonization process of half-carbonizing the recycle raw material; and a biomass-modified coal production process of obtaining biomass-modified coal by mixing the half-carbonized recycle raw material and brown coal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
