To provide a reclamation sand cooling system and a reclamation sand cooling method capable of securely cooling reclamation sand.SOLUTION: There is provided a reclamation sand cooling system 1 where reclamation sand is cooled, and the moisture content of the cooled reclamation sand is adjusted, comprising: a sand moisture temperature measuring instrument 2 of measuring the moisture content and temperature of the reclamation sand; a control apparatus 3 of deciding the optimum water addition amount as the amount of water to be added to the reclamation sand; sprayed water cooling apparatuses 4 and 5 of adding the water of the optimum water addition amount to the reclamation sand and cooling the same with the latent heat of vaporization in the water so as to be the cooled reclamation sand; an air introduction apparatus 6 of introducing air into the sprayed water cooling apparatuses 4 and 5; and an introduced air temperature measuring instrument 7 of measuring the temperature of the introduced air introduced into the sprayed water cooling apparatuses 4 and 5. The control apparatus 3 decides the optimum water addition amount on the basis of the moisture content and temperature of the reclamation sand and the temperature of the introduced air.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
