The present invention relates to a nucleic acid that encodes an amino acid sequence for biosynthesis of gentitrem in a gentiantrum-producing endophytic fungus. The present invention also relates to constructs and vectors containing such nucleic acids, and related polypeptides, regulatory elements, and methods.
