To provide a driver monitoring support device which reduces troublesome monitoring of peripheral traffic of a driver.SOLUTION: A peripheral information acquisition section 2 detects an approaching direction and a speed of a monitoring target in the surrounding traffic of an own vehicle and outputs the information as peripheral information. An eye-gaze detection section 3 detects the line-of-sight direction of a driver of the vehicle and outputs the information as eye-gaze information. An operation detection section 4 detects operation of the own vehicle by the driver and outputs the information as operation information. A driver monitoring section 1 evaluates the monitoring level of the driver from the peripheral information output by the peripheral information acquisition section 2, the eye-gaze information output by the eye-gaze detection section 3, and the operation information output from the operation detection section 4 and outputs control information corresponding to the monitoring level.
