PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which conventional lenses have insufficient optical performance.SOLUTION: An imaging lens comprises, in order from an object side along an optical axis: a front lens group composed of a plurality of lenses; an aperture diaphragm; and a rear lens group composed of a plurality of lenses. The rear lens group includes, in order from the object side along the optical axis: a rear a portion lens group; a rear b portion lens group arranged to be spaced from the rear a portion lens group by an air gap and having negative refractive power; and a rear c portion lens group arranged to be spaced from the rear b portion lens group by an air gap. The rear b portion lens group moves along the optical axis as a focusing lens group when focusing from an object at infinity to an object at a short distance.
