To provide a fuel cell submodule capable of restraining a reduction in generation efficiency, and to provide a fuel cell module and a hybrid power system and an assembly method for the submodule.SOLUTION: A SOFC submodule 202 to be housed in a pressure vessel 205 includes at least one cell stack 101 generating power when supplying fuel gas and oxidizable gas, a lateral outer casing 4 placed to surround the cell stack 101 and defining a side, and a lower outer casing 5 connected to a lower end of a lateral outer casing 4 and closing an opening formed at the lower end of the lateral outer casing 4. The lateral outer casing 4 has an opening, defined by the upper limb of the lateral outer casing 4, at an upper end. A through hole is formed in the lower outer casing 5, and the lower outer casing 5 includes a cylindrical member communicating with the through hole and extending vertically downward.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
