PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of deoxidizing a Ti-Si-based alloy, enabling a Ti-Si-based alloy with low oxygen content to be easily produced with a target composition under a pressure close to ambient pressure using a low-quality Ti material with high oxygen content.SOLUTION: In the production of a low-oxygen Ti-Si-based alloy using a raw material containing oxygen of 0.1 mass% or more, the content of Si in the raw material is 20 mass% or more, oxygen content is reduced without reducing Si content by melting the raw material by arc melting under a pressure of 4.7×10Pa to 1.1×10Pa and holding the melted raw material.SELECTED DRAWING: None
