PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reconcile high radiation efficiency and wide-angle directivity, in an array antenna of small number of elements, such as each of two array antennas of a central feeding travelling-wave array antenna.SOLUTION: In an array antenna where a transmission line is formed in crank shape, a desired radiation dose is obtained by radiating not only from a discontinuous part in crank shape, but also from the discontinuous part of impedance. The line width of a parallel part line 1 is made wider than those of a parallel part line 2 and a vertical part line 3. Alternatively, a microstripline antenna is combined with a patch array antenna. Radiation dose from a patch array antenna may be reduced by the additional radiation dose from the microstripline antenna.EFFECT: Directivity of the array antenna can be widened in the extension direction thereof and the vertical direction, without widening the width of each patch element excessively.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
