PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nutritional composition that can suppress the precipitation of a solid content with time and can be prepared with a low viscosity, the composition having a suitable viscosity when reacted with gastric juice.SOLUTION: According to the present invention, there is provided a slurry nutritional composition comprising proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals, and dietary fibers. Here, the composition comprises alginate selected from the group consisting of sodium alginate, potassium alginate, and ammonium alginate in an amount of 0.5 to 1.5% by mass based on the total amount of the nutritional composition. The alginate has, as a 1%-by-mass aqueous solution, a viscosity of 100 to 900 mPa s at 25°C.
