PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reduction of the operating time of blowers and reduces the energy consumption related to the power of the blowers by optimizing the number of blowers to be used for blowing air to a reaction tank as well as maintaining good quality of treated water stably.SOLUTION: The present invention provides an operation support apparatus for a sewage treatment plant, wherein, in a water treatment facility 1 using an activated sludge method in which a plurality of blowers No. 1 to 4 are connected in parallel in the same blower system, there are means for: calculating a control target value of the blower total intake air volume at the current point; calculating a predicted value of the blower total intake air flow rate control target value at a time point going forward from the current point by the set time; and using the upper limit of the blower total intake air volume in the current blowers operating condition, and the upper limit of the blower total intake air volume in the condition where the number of operated blowers is reduced by one from the current blowers operating condition, to optimize the number of operated blowers so that the BOD of treatment water, ammoniacal nitrogen, and nitrate nitrogen are within the permissible range defined for the treatment plant, so as to achieve high energy saving and avoid frequent on-off.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
