PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus capable of analysing characteristics of a biological tissue using an ultrasonic wave and grasping the advance level of a lesioned part.SOLUTION: In an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 1, an analysis area is set in a tomographic image of a biological tissue 8 by an operation of an input unit 19. A signal processing circuit 14 and an image processing circuit 15 acquire a plurality of reflected wave signals from the biological tissue 8 in the analysis area, and then intensity data of the reflected wave signals is obtained. In an analysis circuit 16, an amplitude probability density distribution is obtained from the intensity data. A controller 10 estimates a density of a scatterer in the biological tissue 8 on the basis of the amplitude probability density distribution and also estimates the size of the scatterer.
