To provide a steam generator having efficiency, easiness in manufacturing, performance, and a safety function.SOLUTION: Steam generators 40 and 42 for a nuclear reactor include a plenum 85 adjacent to a first flat surface crossing a bottom of a riser tower of a reactor vessel 20. The steam generators further include plenums adjacent to a second flat surface that is approximately parallel with the first flat surface and crosses a top of the riser tower 30 of the reactor vessel. The steam generators further include a plurality of steam generator pipes for delivering a coolant from the plenum disposed adjacently to the first flat surface to one of the plenums adjacent to the second flat surface.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
