The metal pipe has two-layered corrosion protection envelope comprising a lower layer facing the pipe and an upper layer on a side of the lower layer. The layers are formed such that the lower layer is electrically conductive and the upper layer is electrically insulated. The upper and lower layers are made of polymeric material.
