PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic induction type sensor such that difficulty in manufacture can be overcome, and detection precision of coordinates of an indication position by a position indicator can be enhanced.SOLUTION: A sensor substrate body has a surface sheet stuck on a first surface side as a side, where a position indication is made by a position indicator, of an insulation substrate, and also has at least a part of a conductor constituting a coil formed on a second surface on the opposite side from the first surface. A coverlay member has a magnetic powder material layer, having a direction of magnetization of magnetic powder set to a direction orthogonal to a thickness direction of a layer of magnetic powder to guide an alternating magnetic field from the coil to the direction of magnetization, and an electromagnetic shield layer, disallowing the alternating magnetic field from the coil to leak out, stacked with the magnetic powder material layer more on a sensor substrate body side than the electromagnetic shield layer. The coverlay member is bonded directly to at least a part of the conductor constituting the coil formed on the second surface of the sensor substrate body.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
