To provide a storage system for IOT backup in a data center with distributed deduplication technology to download a deduplication program to edge components connected thereto, and to download large deduplication table data in a distributed/centralized storage system to all storage units.SOLUTION: The present invention discloses a storage system of distributed deduplication for IoT backup in a data center and a method for achieving the distributed deduplication. The system includes a plurality of storage units. Each storage unit includes: a plurality of to-be-stored-destinations; a control unit for controlling operations of the storage unit; and a distributed deduplication module for providing a deterministic function to the control unit and to the edge component, and executing each step of the method in the control unit and/or the edge component.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
