This system for specifying an object to be transported is provided with: an acquisition unit that specifies a pallet to which an RFID tag is attached and which is transported by a forklift, and acquires, during a prescribed reading period including at least the time while the forklift is moving, tag information that includes at least a tag ID which is read a plurality of times by an RFID reader provided to the forklift and a time of day at which reading occurs; a specification unit that specifies the tag ID of the RFID tag attached to the pallet being transported by the forklift, the specification being performed on the basis of at least one of the frequency of reading within the prescribed reading period for each RFID tag identified by a tag ID, the interval between times of day at which reading occurs, and the continuity of reading; and an output unit that outputs the specified tag ID.
