The present invention relates to purified recombinant cholera toxin B (rCTB) that provides protection against diarrhea caused by various bacteria such as, for example, Vibrio cholerae and Escherichia coli (ETEC). In particular, the present invention relates to a process for producing significantly higher yields and purity of rCTB, which also provides synergistic protection against Vibrio cholerae and against ETEC.
