The present invention provides an optical fiber intermittent tape core manufacturing method and an optical fiber intermittent tape core capable of being manufactured even when the wire speed is high. According to the present invention, an optical fiber tape core is subjected to laser processing by irradiation with pulsed laser light, so that a non-connecting portion and an adjacent optical fiber core are converted into a tape core. Since the intermittent connection part 3 can be formed easily, the coating speed of the resin composition applied to connect the adjacent optical fiber cores 1 to each other is maintained at a high speed. However, this is a method for manufacturing the intermittently connected optical fiber intermittent tape core 2 capable of forming the intermittently connected portion 3 and the unconnected portion 4 at high speed. Further, the obtained optical fiber ribbon 1 is formed with the unconnected portion 4 and the intermittently connected portion 3 by irradiation of pulsed laser light, and reliably executes the intermediate branch without impairing the cable characteristics at the time of high-density mounting.
