The present invention relates to a novel polyamine having the formula (I) obtained from the reaction of polyol diglycidyl ether and piperazine. In the formula, n is an integer of 0 to 30, R ₁ has a different form, R ₂ has the formula (g ₅ ), and when n = 0, R ₂ has the formula (g ₆ ). R ₆ : H, C1-C6 alkyl or hydroxyalkyl group, R ₇ : C1-C6 alkyl or hydroxyalkyl group, When R ₆ is not H, R ₆ and R ₇ may be linked together to form a heterocycle having 5, 6, 7 or 8 atoms. R ₈ : H, C1-C4 alkyl or hydroxyalkyl group. The invention also relates to their preparation methods and their use in amine-based absorption solutions for the selective removal of H ₂ S from gaseous effluents containing H ₂ S and CO ₂ .
