PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the heating efficiency of an inner cylinder in an indirect heating type rotary kiln.SOLUTION: An indirect heating type rotary kiln 1 comprises an outer cylinder 2, and an inner cylinder 3. The outer cylinder 2 comprises an introduction port 2a for heated gas, and a discharge port 2b for the heated gas. The introduction port 2a for the heated gas is provided in a portion on one side in a longitudinal direction. The discharge port 2b for the heated gas is provided in a portion on another side in a longitudinal direction. The inner cylinder 3 is arranged inside the outer cylinder 2. The inner cylinder 3 rotates relatively with respect to the outer cylinder 2. The inner cylinder 3 comprises a tubular inner cylinder body 31, and a wall part 32. The wall part 32 protrudes outward along a radial direction from an external surface of the inner cylinder body 31. The indirect heating type rotary kiln 1 also comprises nozzles 6.
