PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refractory block 11 for coke oven combustion chamber capable of enlarging a refractory for repair of a coke oven combustion chamber 2, needing no removal of metallic materials such as a backstay when repairing, and capable of improving the application efficiency of a furnace construction.SOLUTION: In a refractory block 11 comprising a nonburned refractory, a binder wall 12 of a combustion chamber flue 3 and a laufer wall are formed integrally in an L shape. Two refractory blocks (11a, 11b) arranged in a longitudinal direction 32 of a coke oven battery form one pair, and the combustion chamber flues of n pieces are formed by disposing n-set refractory block pairs in an oven length direction 31. A repair work is completed by setting a few refractories since the nonburned refractory-made refractory block can be enlarged and thus, a repair efficiency can be elevated. Thereby, it is possible to repair without removing the backstays since the refractory block 11 can pass through a space between the backstays even if being a large-sized one.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
