PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and reagent for examining ossification of spinal ligaments.SOLUTION: Single nucleotide polymorphisms present in region 12 of the short arm of chromosome 20 (20p12.3), region 23 of the long arm of chromosome 8 (8q23.1), region 11 of the short arm of chromosome 12 (12p11.22), region 12 of the short arm of chromosome 12 (12p12.2), region 23 of the long arm of chromosome 8 (8q23.3), and region 21 of the short arm of chromosome 6 (6p21.1) are analyzed and the risk of developing ossification of spinal ligaments is examined based on the analysis result.
