The invention provides a holder for a saturable magnetic core and a holding method which suppress adverse effects of strain and ambient temperature on magnetic property of the saturable magnetic core upon assembling and which can be manufactured at low cost, and also discloses a magnetic flux gate current transducer which can perform excellent and accurate measuring. The holder includes: a first support body (12) which assumes a substantial C shape and a second support body (13) which receives the first support body (12). The interior of the first support body (12) is provided with a receiving support part which receives and supports a belt-shaped saturable magnetic core (11). The receiving support part is formed along the substantial C shape of the first support body (12) and penetrates two end surfaces of the first support body (12) so as to enable each end part of the received saturable magnetic core (11) to extend from each end surface of the first support body (12). The second support body (13) receives the first support body (12) which is provided with a magnet exciting coil (125) in the outer periphery of the first support body (12).
