PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a side rubber of a tire, which has sufficiently high cut resistance and is capable of significantly improving low heat build-up properties of a side rubber of a tire.SOLUTION: The rubber composition for a side rubber of a tire contains a rubber component containing: a hydrazide-modified natural rubber obtained by adding a hydrazide compound to a natural rubber; and a polybutadiene rubber. In the rubber component, the content of the hydrazide-modified natural rubber is 40-70 mass%, and the content of the polybutadiene rubber is 30-60 mass%.SELECTED DRAWING: None
