PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To estimate the wattage consumption by an item of electric equipment without detecting the same electric equipment item more than once while reducing the quantity of calculation.SOLUTION: By a wattage estimating method for estimating the wattage consumed by each electric equipment item, multiple combinations of operating modes one of which is selected at random for each electric equipment item are prepared, a score function is calculated for each of the combinations, the consumed wattage is substituted into each of the calculated multiple score functions, and the wattage consumed by each electric equipment item is estimated on the basis of the combination giving the largest score function out of the multiple score functions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
