PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dietary behavior detection device and dietary behavior detection method capable of further accurately detecting dietary behavior of a user by measuring the operation of the user's arm with the detection device worn around the arm.SOLUTION: The dietary behavior detection device includes: a worn part being worn around a forearm of an object person whose dietary behavior is detected; an acceleration sensor 21 capable of detecting acceleration in at least biaxial directions; a distribution processing part 76 for creating appearance frequency information of a plurality of pieces of acceleration data output from the acceleration sensor 21 with respect to a prescribed area; and a dietary behavior detection part 78 for detecting the dietary behavior of the object person on the basis of the appearance frequency information created by the distribution processing part 76.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
