PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a medical material maintaining the original characteristics of polyanionic polysaccharide as raw material, further, high in safety since the use of a chemical crosslinking agent is not needed and also having suitable flexibility and elasticity.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a medical material comprising a process where a raw material molded body made of raw material containing the water soluble salt of polyanionic polysaccharide and glycerin is treated with a treatment liquid including an acid anhydride, and the raw material molded body is subjected to water insolubilization.SELECTED DRAWING: None
