PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method capable of decontaminating muddy water containing sand contaminated with heavy metals without using a special device.SOLUTION: A muddy water treatment system is provided that treats muddy water containing sand contaminated with heavy metals and includes separation means for separating sand particles having a predetermined size or larger contained in the muddy water, water washing means for washing the separated particles, extracting means for adding an agent to the muddy water containing particles having a size smaller than the predetermined size after separating the larger particles and extracting the heavy metals sticking to the particles having a size smaller than the predetermined size into the muddy water, and dehydration means for dehydrating the muddy water.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
