PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal complex that shows ff emission having a high luminescence quantum yield in a solid state, in a lanthanide metal complex, emits light while maintaining complex formation even when an LB film is formed, and can be applied to the sufficient design of a material for promoting ff emission in an LB film using the lanthanide metal complex and to a polarized light-emitting body achieving stable emission properties and polarizability, and to provide an LB film and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A metal complex in which 6 nitrogen atoms are coordinated with or bonded to one lanthanide metal atom is designed and synthesized by introducing a structure including a long alkyl chain in a ligand molecule. As a result, a new metal complex was found which is stable for a long period of time in air and is easy in handling. A monomolecular film comprising the complex according to the present invention and its built-up film (LB film), and the complex are used as emission materials.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
