PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode equipped with LiMMnOpowder manufactured by a new manufacturing method, and also to provide a lithium ion secondary battery.SOLUTION: Disclosed is a positive electrode equipped with LiMMnO(M is metal, 0.8≤a≤1.1, 0≤x≤1, 1≤y≤2.2, 1.8≤x+y≤2.2) powder of a spinel type crystal structure whose average particle size is within a range of 10 nm to 400 nm.SELECTED DRAWING: None
