(A) 1,4-di(3-methoxythienyl)-2,5-dihalobenzene is manufactured by a 3-ethoxythiophene-2-metal derivative and 1,2,4,5-tetrahalobenzene in the presence of a palladium catalyst. (B) demethylation.
