PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-ended flat grinding technology capable of preferably coping with grinding of both faces of a workpiece having a large margin in double-ended flat grinding of a through feed system.SOLUTION: Grinding grindstones 1, 2 are formed into disc grindstones formed by a concentric stack of three layers: a cylindrical rough grinding grindstone layer 10; a precise grinding grindstone layer 11; and a guide grindstone layer 12, and flat circular grindstone faces 1a, 2a of the grindstone part 7 of these disc grindstones 1, 2 comprise three grinding regions consisting of an annular rough grinding region A, a precise grinding region B and a guide region C concentrically arranged in sequential continuity from the outer diameter side, thereby enabling preferable coping with simultaneous grinding of both faces of a workpiece W having a large margin, suppressing grinding wear to elongate grindstone lifetime, and obtaining a desired grinding precision (in particular, parallelism and flatness) by a single grinding processing with a high grinding efficiency.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
