PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an aging diagnostic method for hair capable of easily and reliably diagnosing aging of the hair; and a method for reliably diagnosing aging damage hair damaged by hair chemical treatment (coloring or perming) and the like in addition to the aging.SOLUTION: An aging diagnostic method for hair includes the steps of: applying tension to a hair bundle in a direction away from a scalp so that an outline of the hair bundle is approximately linear; and diagnosing aging of the hair on the basis of an aging hair visually recognized in the hair bundle. Preferably the hair bundle is a group of hair in a region on one side when a head is divided into two parts approximately at the midline. The hair bundle may be a group of hair of a longitudinal slice in the back of the head.
