The solar ultraviolet rotary radiometer for measurement of extreme solar eruptions is intended for operational monitoring of extreme solar radiation in the ultraviolet area, which is hazardous to human skin, and subsequent timely notification. The detection unit is shown in Figure 1 and comprises a hollow, mechanically coupled and rotatable electric motor (5), a cylinder (2), on which an inner detection element (3) is mounted against the inside covered by an optical absorption layer. a diaphragm longitudinal gap (4) along the cylinder, with the axis of rotation of the cylinder lies in the plane of the principal celestial meridian for a given geographical location and perpendicular to the line determined by the observation location and the mean position of the Sun at the upper culmination during summer solstice and spring (or respectively autumn) equinox. The detection elements are connected to a microcontroller system for continuous recording of the readings and an alarm signalling in case of exceeding the measured radiation, and the data can be transmitted to specialized centres for environmental, preventive and scientific monitoring of ultraviolet radiation.
