Three-dimensional preform with the shape of an arrow shaped in t or pi, respective reinforcement and method for reinforcement and three-dimensional composite structure. disclosed is a three-dimensional preform reinforcement (201) with the t-shaped or pi-shaped arrow shape, a method of doing the same and a composite structure including the reinforcement. The gusset is a directional fabric having a width, length, a first front surface and a second front surface separated by a thickness. the first front surface of the directional fabric is affixed to an arrow shaped preform component. The directional fabric reinforcement may be a single layer or multilayer fabric which may be woven using a programmable execution system.
