An insecticidal composition comprising by weight based on the total weight of the composition is described: a) from about 9 to about 82% of one or more anthranilic diamide insecticides; and b) from about 9 to about 82% of a triblock copolymer component with a water solubility of at least about 5% by weight at 20 ° C, wherein the ratio of component (b) to component (a) is approximately 1:10 to about 10: 1 by weight; c) from about 9 wt.% to about 82 wt.% of a water solubility polymer crosslinking agent of at least about 5 wt.% at 20 ° C; wherein the ratio of component (b) to component (c) is from approximately 1:10 to approximately 10: 1 by weight, and wherein percent by weight is based on the total weights of (a) + (b) + ( ç). Also described is a geotropic propagule coated with the insecticidal composition. Also disclosed is a liquid composition comprising the insecticidal composition, and a method of protecting a geotropic propagule and plant derived therefrom against phytophagous insect pests.
