Polyurethane Composite Formation Process with Mining and Kaolin Processing Residues The present invention relates to a process for generating a polymer composite formed from polyurethane and kaolin processing residues. These residues are responsible for environmental problems, but have granulometry around 0.84 mm and minerals of interest such as mica, characterizing it with high potential for application as mineral load. In this way, composites consisting of thermoplastic and waste could be processed and incorporated into up to 90% by mass. The results of the composite tests indicated high strength, mechanics and 50% decrease in sound and heat propagation. Thus, it is suggested the application of this material for the generation of bricks, thermal and acoustic insulating plates, inner part of helmets, replacing the foam where the reduction of sound is important.
