Curcuminoid and oleic acid-based nanoemulsions for topical use in the treatment of pressure injuries. The present invention relates to the composition, process of preparation and application of nanoemulsions in pharmaceutical formulations (spray, cream, gel and membrane) composed of curcuminoids, oleic acid and pluronic® f127 copolymer. Traditional therapies using natural products, practiced for centuries, are being scientifically investigated for their potential in treating wounds and skin infections. The two substances in question are essential fatty acids (oleic acid) and curcuminoids, which, according to data recorded in the literature, have anti-inflammatory, bactericidal and healing effects. Pluronic® f127 non-ionic ethylene polyoxide surfactant is considered a constituent material of the drug delivery system and contributes to increased wound healing in terms of wound area reduction. Due to the properties of the proposed nanostructured system components, the mixture has good stability and potential healing effect on pressure injury. nanoemulsions, object of this invention, in aqueous dispersion form have average hydrodynamic diameter ranging from 100-500 nm and zeta potential with values ranging from -20 to -40 mv. These values indicate that the proposed nanoemulsions have good colloidal stability in solution (less possibility of suspension aggregation) and tend to be applied to the skin, having only local (topical) and non-transdermal effect. Thus, the present invention has significant relevance as it represents a strategy for the development of biotechnological products with good stability and which is minimized in cost due to the use of low cost biodegradable raw materials with potential synergistic effect.
