It is a burner assembly for a top combustion hot wind regenerator comprising a burner surrounded by a burner casing, wherein said burner has a circular cross-section; several air nozzles arranged to tangentially feed the burner with air, the air nozzles being connected to one or more air distribution chambers; several gas nozzles arranged to tangentially feed the gas burner, the gas nozzles being connected to one or more gas distribution chambers; wherein the air nozzles are arranged in one or more vertical or inclined stacked air nozzle arrangements, each vertical or inclined stacked arrangement being in connection with a vertical or inclined air distribution chamber; the gas nozzles are arranged in one or more vertical or inclined stacked gas nozzle arrangements, each vertical or inclined stacked arrangement being in connection with a vertical or inclined gas distribution chamber; and the vertical or inclined air distribution chamber (or chambers) and the vertical or inclined gas distribution chamber (or chambers) are disposed along the circumference of the burner casing.
