The present document relates to a beverage preparation system including a second exchangeable capsule (4b) and arranged to optionally include a first exchangeable capsule (4a). The second capsule is larger than the first capsule. the system also includes an apparatus with a first infusion chamber part (18) and a second infusion chamber part (20) forming an infusion chamber (22a) for selectively securing one of the capsules and a fluid dispensing device to deliver pressurized fluid to the first part of the infusion chamber. The first part of the infusion chamber has a cavity (24) for selectively retaining the first or second capsules.
