The invention provides methods for quantifying a nonionic surfactant in a composition comprising a polypeptide and the nonionic surfactant, wherein the quantification has reduced interference between the nonionic surfactant and the polypeptide. Methods are also provided wherein the composition further includes n-acetyl tryptophan, and the quantification has reduced interference between the nonionic surfactant, the polypeptide and n-acetyl tryptophan.
