In one embodiment, the present technology provides a surfactant composition comprising a compound imidated in an optional solvent for use in a hydrocarbon-based fluid to improve emulsification of an acidifying agent in the hydrocarbon-based fluid. In another embodiment, the present technology provides a method of employing an acidified wellbore stimulation fluid containing the surfactant composition to stimulate a reservoir.
