The present invention relates to a device for facilitating the positioning of a catheter for administration of a liquid medicament to a spontaneously breathing patient. The method and system according to the preferred embodiments of the present invention allow the dispensation of said medicaments to be optimized. Specifically, the system according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention allows the administration of an exogenous pulmonary surfactant to preterm patients.
