摘要
is an asymmetric hollow fiber carbon molecular sieve (cms), a molecular sieve that is produced by providing an additive solution composed of a polyimide and a solvent at a temperature above 250 ° C which is lower than that the storage module at a temperature of 250 ° C, but not more than ten times lower, as measured using dynamic mechanical thermal analysis of 250 ° C for a temperature at which the polyimide is carbonized. The polyimide is formed into a hollow polyimide fiber, the solvent is removed, and the hollow polyimide fiber is heated to pyrolyze the polyimide and form the asymmetric hollow carbon molecular sieve. the asymmetric hollow fiber carbon molecular sieve has a wall that is defined by an inner surface and an outer surface of said fiber, and the wall has an inner porous support region that extends from the inner surface to an outer microporous separation region extending from the inner porous support region to the outer surface. surprisingly, when the polyimide has the particular characteristics of the storage modulus, the method allows the hollow cms fiber to be produced without any pretreatments or additives to inhibit the structural breakdown of the internal microporous region.
