inhibition of naphthenic acid corrosion using a new synergistic combination of phosphorus compounds. The present invention relates to the hydrocarbon processing field which causes corrosion on the metal surfaces of the processing units. The invention addresses the technical problem of high temperature naphthenic acid corrosion and sulfur corrosion and provides a solution to inhibit these types of corrosion. The 3 combined compositions are formed of 3 mixtures separately, with a mixture obtained by mixing compound a, which is obtained by reacting highly reactive polyisobutylene (hrpib) with phosphorus pentasulfide in the presence of a catalytic amount of sulfur with compound b. such as trialkyl phosphate and the second mixture obtained by mixing compound a with compound b such as diisodecyl phenyl phosphite type phosphite, and the third mixture obtained by mixing compound a with compound d such as phosphonate, where each of these 3 mixtures independently provides high corrosion inhibition efficiency in case of high temperature naphthenic acid corrosion and sulfur corrosion. The invention is useful in all hydrocarbon processing units such as refineries, distillation columns and other petrochemical sectors.
