In the treatment of a gas mixture containing acid gases by contacting with an adsorbent solution (A) to give a deacidified gas mixture and (A) loaded with acid gases, (A) is regenerated by (i) passing (A) successively through first and second, high and low pressure regenerators, (ii) compressing the gas released from the second regenerator and (iii) recycling the compressed gas to the first regenerator. An independent claim is included for a corresponding gas mixture treatment plant, comprising an absorption column (2); a gas mixture supply line (1) feeding into the column base; an absorbent solution (A) supply line feeding into the column head; a first regenerator (11), having an inlet connected to an outlet at the column base via a loaded (A) line (4); a second regenerator (21); a liquid transport line (13) from the first regenerator to the second; and a gas transport line (25), in which a compressor (26) is located, from the second regenerator to the first.
