This invention describes a spinning electrode (1) designed for the production of polymeric nanofibres by electrically or electrostatically spinning a polymer solution or melt (5) comprising a solution or melt (5) polymer conduit (2), one face (6) of which forms a spinning surface (60) of the spinning electrode (1), or which is at one end fitted with an extension (20), on which the spinning surface (60), rounded or angled, of the spinning electrode (1) is located. The principle of this electrode is that a rotating worm shaft (8) is mounted in the inner space of its solution or melt (5) conduit (2), which forms a worm conveyor with the inner wall of this conduit (2). The worm shaft (8) protrudes with its lower end outside this conduit (2) and is connected at this end to the magnetic coupling hub (9) or provided with means for coupling with the magnetic coupling hub (9). In addition, the invention also describes an apparatus for producing polymeric nanofibres by electrically or electrostatically spinning a polymer solution or melt and a process for producing polymeric nanofibres by electrically or electrostatically spinning a solution or melt of a polymer.
