The invention relates to a device for storing thermal energy, including a thermal energy exchanger (3) that uses a heat-transfer fluid, and an enclosure (10) filled with phase-change material (PCM) into which said exchanger is submerged (3), characterised in that said exchanger (3) includes tubes (1) and plates (2) including openings (5) for tubes through which the tubes (1) are arranged, and in that at least some of the plates (2) have raised portions that act as plate separators (2), making it possible to stack the plates (2) in contact on top of one another while keeping a space between two adjacent plates (2). The field of the invention relates to thermal storage systems (TSS) using PCM and, specifically, to the integration of a heat exchanger with optimised geometry. The invention can be used in both urban and rural electricity and heating networks.
